About Our Products

I began this journey with the belief that I should only make products that are made with all-natural, mostly organic ingredients~ palm-free, no artificial fragrances or dyes, and no phthalates, or parabens. While I still hold true to the majority of this philosophy, I have realized that all-natural isn't always better. For example, I just cannot for the life of me find a natural green colorant that doesn't fade into some drab, resemblance of green a few months down the line. Or the plain fact that shampoo bars made in the soap style just aren't the best thing for our hair.

I wanted to do something good for this world, and for ourselves, and that has not changed in the least. When you purchase from Natural Order Handmade, you can trust in 3 things: our products will not harm you, any animals, or the world around us. The ingredients that go into our products have been researched by me to be completely safe for everyone and everything involved. They are biodegradable, plant-based*, palm-free, and cruelty-free, with no health risks to be known from their use. You may see some unfamiliar, or unpronounceable words- I maintain full transparency and I am proud of everything that goes into making our products. We have created a Glossary of Ingredients page for the sole purpose of educating you on the ingredients that we use. If you have further questions about any ingredient, PLEASE feel free to contact me!

Our body soap bars are made in small batches in the traditional cold process style. Each bar is cured for 4 weeks to ensure its quality. Due to the nature of handmade & hand-cut soaps, each bar is different in its own unique way~ color, design, & weight may vary. Full-size bars range from 4.5~5 ounces unless otherwise noted.

Our candles are 100% soy wax hand-poured with in-house custom and thoughtfully blended scent profiles. While the majority of Natural Order Handmade products are made with essential oils, our candles contain fragrance oils. This was decided for many reasons. There is a common misconception that essential oils are the best route from an environmental standpoint. But, if you consider the fact that it takes an entire field of lavender to create a very small amount of essential oil, that takes a toll. Essential oils do not create an optimum scent throw in candles. The melted wax destroys much of the scent. Essential oils also can vary from batch to batch, given that they are created from natural plants and flowers, which don't always smell the same. We use premium fragrance oils that are completely phthalate, paraben, and DPG-free. They are composed primarily of aroma chemicals, aroma compounds, and some essential oils specially engineered as phthalate-free.

Keep in mind that I am not a healthcare professional of any sort. While I thoughtfully consider the recipes of each product and use ingredients that have been known to aid certain skin issues, I do not claim that any of my products can cure any health condition that may exist.

Our reusables are made of 100% cotton flannel. We use the scraps left over from our Forever Towels and Everyday Napkins to make our Daily Rounds, and any scraps left over from that are saved to be recycled with FABSCRAP, a textile reuse and recycling resource that shreds small scraps to create insulation, carpet padding, furniture lining, moving blankets, etc.

Our goal is to keep our environmental footprint as small as possible while providing quality goods that bring joy when used. It's that simple!

*We do use milk in some of our body soaps.
